Trial of Position

Ranks are achieved in SLP through a Trial of Position.
Rules for a Trial of Position:
To be a valid Trial of Position there must be at least 3 members present; a ranking officer of Star Colonel or higher to give the consent of the trail, the person on trial who wishes to advance in rank, and at least one witness to the trail.
Next step is the bidding process. The trialed must state what is the tonnage of the BattleMech he/she wishes to use in the trail; this will set the starting bid. Members present in the Trial of Position may bid if they are at the rank of Star Commander or higher (But the trialed cannot pass the rank of the trailer). When someone bids to trail, they are bidding on the tonnage of the Mech they will use against the trailed. They try to bid a lower tonnage than everyone else, but bid wisely, and while still making it challenging for the trailed to advance in rank. No bid can fall below 35 tons than the starting bid. Once the bidding is done, the lowest bidder gets to choose the map on which the trail will take place.
Next is the trail. The trial will last 10 minutes. All witnesses to the trail are to select a camera ship. At the end of the game the rank is determined by the amount of kills.
The amount of kills earns the following ranks:

1 = Cadet

3 = Mech Warrior

5 = Point Commander

7 = Star Commander

9 = Star Captain

11 = Star Colonel

13 = Galaxy Commander

15 = SaKhan

17 = Khan

You may only have a ToP every 30 days if granted by the Khan or Keshik, also if you want a ToP talk to the Khan or a member of the Keshik to see if your eligible for one. The Keshik or Khan will decide if you are eligible for a ToP based upon your display of participation, skills, and leadership needed for the rank you wish to advance too. You may also only advance one rank at a time.
If you fail to the fact that your ability to do your best was hindered (Like lag (ping of 500+ for the most of the game), or interruption by family member, ether party takes more than 25 seconds to enbter the map after launch.) you may take your argument to the Khan or Keshik to be reviewed for a redo on your ToP, however stuff like a bad mech setup is not an excuse. Witnesses present will verify your argument to the Khan or Keshik.

The Khan and or Keshik holds the right to decline or invalidate the Trial of Position; before, during, or after. The Khan or Keshik can also with hold a person’s right to bid upon a trail. Also to advance to the ranks of Star Colonel, Galaxy Commander, saKhan, and Khan, must have the consent of the Khan or Keshik to allow the trial.
